Advanced Nurse Practitioner – Lister House Surgery

Lister House Surgery, Wiveliscombe has an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified, motivated, committed and self-reliant Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our diverse multi-disciplined clinical team.

Working under GP supervision, this newly created role is intended to support GPs by providing general medical care through assessment, diagnosis, treatment and referral or signposting to other services, subject to your scope of practice and levels of qualification. It is anticipated the ANP role will encompass participation in: patient telephone & face-to-face triage, holding clinics, home visits, minor ailments, co-working with another ANP and general support to the GP team, with the potential to expand and design according to demand and specialist skills/experience.

These are exciting times for the development of primary care in Somerset with the creation of a brand new Primary Care Directorate set up within Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust and Somerset Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (the Alliance), with the innovative aim of providing an integrated, multi-disciplinary clinical approach to patient care. Each Trust currently manages one GP practice, Warwick House in Taunton and Lister House in Wiveliscombe and we want to develop closer working.

A Prescriber qualification would be beneficial, although we would welcome applications from candidates currently working towards the prescriber qualification.
